Happy day before Election Day....

Slow start this dreary Monday morning ... Lots to share over the next few hours and days, so please check back often for updates.
  • Have solicited "Day before Election Day statements" from all the city commission candidates. Will post as soon as they are collected. Gentle reminder that polls are open between 7 and 7 tomorrow. Please remind friends, neighbors, co-workers to vote if registered!
  • Have young children and considering whether or not to see Disney's new movie "Earth"? This just in from a California friend's Facebook page: "(Mary is) confessing publicly that she and Emma wimped out at Disney's "Earth" and had to leave less than halfway through, so traumatized and teary were we about the fate of some of the animals depicted. Beautifully photographed for those who can handle it - and some wonderful, funny moments between episodes of death and destruction."
  • Disappointing news: I had hoped that Nashville Symphony's new conductor, Music Director (and Brentwood resident) Giancarlo Guerrero would be directing the symphony Sunday when it returns for its annual performance at Crockett Park. Unfortunately, he'll be out of town but don't despair, we'll be in good hands, or hand as the case may be. The baton will be held by Resident Conductor Albert-George Schram. Let's just all pray that the sun comes out to dry up the amphitheatre.

  1. Sad to hear Giancarlo will not be conducting but if you have been to the Pops series when Mr. Schram is at the helm, you know he is often hilarious and a pleasure to watch. Looking forward to seeing you there on Mother's Day!
